Retallick’s research program focuses broadly on the teaching and learning processes related to experiential learning theory and practice. Areas of study include early field experiences, internships/field experiences, teaching and learning in the classroom and via distance education, ISU's Science With Practice, and learning communities. He also engages in program planning and collaborating across disciplines.
